North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA) (part 2)

The main purpose of NAFTA was the removal of barriers to trade in goods between member countries. Half barrier restrictions were lifted immediately, and the rest were taken gradually over 14 years. Such an agreement has been extended version of a trade agreement in 1989 between Canada and the United States. Unlike the European Union, NAFTA is not intended to create inter-state administrative bodies, such as not intended, and the creation of laws that would govern such a system. NAFTA is the only international trade agreements within the framework of international law. To date, the objectives of NAFTA include:

Structure NAFTA NAFTA has a clear organizational structure. The central institution of NAFTA was the Free Trade Commission, which includes representatives of the ministerial trade from the three participating countries. The Commission oversees the implementation and further development of the Agreement and help resolve disputes that arise in the interpretation of the Agreement. Ministers agreed that the Commission's work will assist the coordinating secretariat of the NAFTA (NCS), whose establishment was planned for the end of 1997 in Mexico City. Secretariat to serve as the official archive of the NAFTA and to fulfill the role of the Secretariat working with the Commission. NAFTA provides for the further work to assist in achieving a free trade area. In accordance with the Agreement, in order to facilitate trade and investment. ensure the effective implementation of the rules of NAFTA and the administration have been established for more than 30 working groups and committees. The main areas where work on the creation of rules include the origin of goods, customs, agricultural trade and subsidies in this area of the economy, the standardization of goods, gospostavki and Devolli movement of people across borders.
